PT Blink appoints tech luminary and former Warren Centre head Ashley Brinson as CEO

Sydney, Australia, 18 May 2022 Australian construction tech company PT Blink has named distinguished tech industry leader Ashley Brinson as CEO amid the latest phase of growth, including expansion in the US market and preparation for the launch of its cloud-based technology platform and marketplace. Previously a director on the company’s board, Brinson steps into the new CEO role with a clear understanding of the people, culture and opportunity for PT Blink at a pivotal time in the construction and construction technology industries.

“This is an exciting time for PT Blink and all our stakeholders, with the headwinds of change in the construction industry all pointing to technology, collaboration and offsite construction as the way for the industry to progress,” says incoming CEO, Ashley Brinson. “I am honoured to be charged with leading our talented team to chart the course for our future. Our team are all united and energised by a common purpose to see the benefits of our unique Australian technology achieved at scale across the social, economic and environmental pillars on which our business is founded.”

Brinson brings decades of international leadership experience to PT Blink including an extensive career with the Dow Corning Corporation overseeing robotics, solar-panel and silicon facilities in the US, Europe and Asia. His talent for invention, design and construction has manifested in his own ‘cleantech’ company Greener Technologies Ltd, which offers an automation system for large-scale solar deployment called Solarobotix. From 2014-2020, Brinson was also the CEO of The Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering, an innovation centre at the University of Sydney focussed on accelerating economic productivity and the adoption of new technologies.

Mark Franklin, PT Blink’s Executive Chairman comments: “Ashley has been such a passionate and strong asset to our board that he emerged as the natural fit for the new CEO role. His combination of experience and intellect is matched by his passion for teamwork to achieve a higher purpose, which is the energy that drives our business.”

Among his qualifications, Brinson holds a BChE from Georgia Tech, an MBA from Rutgers University and a Juris Doctor from Sydney University Law School. He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, a Fellow of IChemE, a lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and he co-chairs the Society of Construction Law Australia “Technology 2030” Task Force.

About PT Blink

PT Blink is creating a unique technology platform and digital marketplace* that enables the offsite manufacture of buildings rather than constructing them traditionally.

PT Blink reduces property project risks for owners and developers by bringing visibility, control, assurance and modern manufacturing precision to any property asset. By licencing PT Blink’s patented technology platform and Blink DMI™ (Design-Manufacture-Integrate) method of project delivery, owners and developers can minimise the risk of time and cost overruns that often occur in traditional construction projects.

PT Blink’s infinitely flexible geometry and parametric modelling enable millimetre-precise component manufacturing and mass customisation for any architectural design, while reducing project time by up to 40%, minimising waste and risk of worker injury, and enabling smart asset operation.

*PT Blink currently licences its proprietary Blink DMI™ method to clients on a project basis while the platform and marketplace are completed.
