PT Blink appoints former Arup, Katerra engineering executive to lead US operations and expansion
Sydney, Australia, 3 March 2022 – Australian construction and property tech company PT Blink has announced the appointment of former Arup and Katerra engineering executive Will Watson as US Director. Based in Seattle, Washington, Watson assumes full responsibility for PT Blink’s operations in the United States.
“Will is an exceptional talent and his experience, skills and relationships make him the right person to lead our US operations,” says PT Blink Executive Chairman Mark Franklin. “The US is our major growth market outside Australia and Will is ideally positioned to oversee our project pipeline and to build our horizontally integrated partner ecosystem as we transition into a cloud-based platform and marketplace.”
Watson’s appointment follows a major partnership and multi-million-dollar capital raise with the owners of major US-based property developer and operator Holland Partner Group (HPG). The partnership sees PT Blink applying its technology to several HPG developments in the US as the cloud platform is created. The partnership has commenced with an eight-storey apartment in Seattle, Washington.
"PT Blink is a step-change in the construction industry and I am excited to be part of something that will drive substantive benefits for all stakeholders using our process, from developers and owners through to our partner network,” says Watson. “It is a pleasure to be working closely with our partners HPG who clearly appreciate the benefits of speed, quality, safety and waste minimisation baked into our process. I look forward to expanding our ecosystem to scale those benefits via our cloud-based platform.”

About PT Blink
PT Blink is creating a unique technology platform and digital marketplace* that enables the offsite manufacture of buildings rather than constructing them traditionally.
PT Blink reduces property project risks for owners and developers by bringing visibility, control, assurance and modern manufacturing precision to any property asset. By licencing PT Blink’s patented technology platform and Blink DMI™ (Design-Manufacture-Integrate) method of project delivery, owners and developers can minimise the risk of time and cost overruns that often occur in traditional construction projects.
PT Blink’s infinitely flexible geometry and parametric modelling enable millimetre-precise component manufacturing and mass customisation for any architectural design, while reducing project time by up to 40%, minimising waste and risk of worker injury, and enabling smart asset operation.
*PT Blink currently licences its proprietary Blink DMI™ method to clients on a project basis while the platform and marketplace are completed.
